Managed financial analyses of asset acquisitions and utilization for car management, locomotive management, and fuel management and oversaw budgets of $500M in annual expenses. Analyzed and created asset fleet strategies based upon long-term free cash flow optimization and reported findings to executive leadership. Analyzed aspects of a car cycle and recommended utilization strategies to improve asset efficiency which contributed to over $40M in annual operational savings for car fleet expenses.• Conducted deep-dive analyses into financial and operational performance of asset management. Identified seasonality trends and car cycle information and translated results into recommendations that contributed to a YOY car hire budget expense reduction of $24M, the first budget reduction in a decade.• Created statistical regression predictors to improve expense forecasting for fuel and cars based upon operational metrics utilized daily by company executives.• Designed and communicated processes to determine the profitability of each car type to drive efficient long-term strategic decision making for the company.
