I am a Senior Communications Officer, with nine years of experience in the public sector. I am widely respected by colleagues and stakeholders, including the Home Office, where my work on the Syrian refugee resettlement programme has been described as the blueprint for how to communicate. My background is in sub-editing. I am adept in stakeholder mapping, producing strategic communications plans and crisis communications. I account manage housing, property, finance and electoral services within the authority. I successfully pitch stories to local and regional media and am adept at handling national media too.I recently obtained a CIM diploma in professional marketing (which I passed with merit), on which I obtained a distinction in digital strategy. This has seen me at the forefront of delivering a digital strategy within the authority, centred on enhancing the council's website. I also have a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature with Media Studies.I live with my wife (and mini zoo) in Herne Bay, Kent.
