My role here at McAfee was to provide support to business/enterprise customers and sales engineers for Linux/Unix based products. Working closely with Advanced Engineers to ensure customer product issues are resolved in the areas of: Advanced Threat Defense (ATD), Network Security Platform(NSP)/Manager (NSM), Network Threat Behavioural Analysis (NTBA), TIE/DXL, Vulnerability Management, Email Security (McAfee Email Gateway), DNS Security.My current interests are integration of McAfee virtual products with AWS/Azure, NFV, machine learning and AWS Architect certification.I am currently proposing a project to reduce latency in McAfee's whole product range, which has reached the pilot stage.

Normal tasks include:- Advanced troubleshooting of incidents on LAN/MAN/WAN network components from various vendors (CISCO, Juniper, Checkpoint, HP, F5, Riverbed, & Others)- Developing Root Cause Analysis documents and presenting them to IBM/Customer representatives- Investigating and analyzing repetitive issues on the network for resolution- Planning & performing configuration changes on network devices- Continuously reviewing network configurations (routing, firewall rules, VLAN configurations, Fabric, QoS, vPC, Stacking, LB profiles & others) for optimization opportunities- Manage knowledge transfer for new customers- Conduct Technical interview assessments for potential candidates- Provide on-call support outside business hours for high severity incidents.In addition to normal tasks, my brief is to find ways to integrate Watson cognitive technologies into daily processes like change management, security patching etc., working with other departments within IBM to improve global process workflow.Following a suggestion I made for improving internal learning within the department, I am tasked with setting up a virtual lab environment to improve the team's knowledge on new customers devices.Another suggestion I have made recently has been picked up for investigation into a new line of business for IBM. While completing a Master of Science degree in Design and Engineering of Convergent Networks at Telecom Bretagne, France I was employed as a networks intern at Siemens S.A.S at Châtillon in Paris. Integrated with the R&D Communications Systems team, which is charged with developing products and solutions for the trackside and track-to-train metro communications systems provided by Siemens.The purpose of the internship was to develop a representative test platform for the network architecture deployed on rail automation projects such as Paris Line 1 etc.This virtualised test platform will be used for analysing new functionality for the communication system. This required gaining detailed knowledge in the following areas;• study of loop avoidance algorithms and technologies• use of GNS3 network emulation software• linking physical switching hardware and virtual equipment (Linux servers, firewall, routers)• set up and configure security (firewalls, ACLs, AAA (FreeRADIUS), 802.1X, VPN)• creating and executing a test plan The test lab was then delivered after acceptance testing was carried out.
