GBC/ ACCO designs and builds high speed commercial laminators for the printing and binding industry. Their products help produce many of the posters and hard cover books that you see today. During my 4 years at GCB/ACCO, I was a Mechanical andControls Engineer for the 'Cyclone' laminator. At the time, it was the fastest laminator in the world.• Increased the maximum speed of commercial lamination from 180 to 330 ft./min.• Designed mechanical components, cams and assemblies using Solidworks and autoCAD.• Programmed nine axis machines with Allen Bradley PLC ladder logic and motion control software.• Contributed to a team of four engineers and two assembly technicians.• Resigned from ACCO to start Farris Automated Systems.
