As the Facility Director of Alexandria’s premiere meeting and convention venue, the Randolph Riverfront Center, I am responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the venue and events. Contracting, purchasing, cost estimates, risk management/analysis, budget forecasting, and event management functions are a part of my responsibilities. I oversee the major improvements completed to the venue such as rebuilding the HVAC chillers, CCTV camera upgrades, intrusion and fire detection upgrades, and digital sound and audio visual enhancements. One of the most valuable skills I possess is the ability to easily work with all customers, from small meetings to large conventions to large entertainment shows and I am equally comfortable working with government, corporate and private entities. I directly supervise both event manger positions for our venue. Indirectly, I supervise all temp workers through our event managers. As well, I serve as liaison for all venue contractors including catering, decorating, audio visual and sound, rigging and event and meeting planners. Final purchasing authority over the venues budget rests with me. My mission as Facility Director is to ensure our venue and the service we provide, continues to safely deliver the best possible experience for every customer.
