I have recently joined the Nuffield Department of Primary Care at Oxford University as a Senior Research in Applied Statistics in Healthcare and Population Health Modelling.As well as extensive experience as a lecturer in the University sector, I have considerable commercial experience as a Data Scientist using Big Data in the study of Health Care systems. I also have expertise and experience in applied predictive modelling (GLM models, Random Forests, SVMs, Neural Networks etc). Recently I have been investigating frailty survival model for recurrent events in the presence of competing risks.I have led many projects including Delivering Quality and Value in the NHS, NHS Choices, Global Comparators providing data engineering and statistical support.As an Applied Mathematician I have worked on the stability problem in large-scale VLSI circuit implementations of Hopfield networks - for a few years these results were the 'best' known (in the sense that only one mild constraint was imposed on the system to make it stable). My results have been cited by many authors worldwide. I also have several years lecturing experience in the University sector in the UK.
