Formerly Progressive Solutions International One of the original 5 founders of Software Aspects Ltd in 2000, which after a number of acquisitions is now part of Epicor Software. Key member in the development and design of a highly successful ERP solution for Timber and Builders merchants called BisTrack. BisTrack has been developed using VB6, SQL Server, COM+ and .Net C#. Involved in the design and migration of existing VB6 code into .Net C#. As the person responsible for the purchasing/costing side of the BisTrack ERP product I undertook a major restructuring of the software to improve the accuracy and recording of financial costs within the system. SQL Server Triggers and Stored Procedures were heavily utilised. This brought many benefits to both the users and the code. It enabled users to quickly analyse and understand the costs and value of their products (this was not previously possible). For the development team it provided a single mechanism for updating product costs. Collaborated closely with Support and Professional Services departments to analyse and solve customer issues. When required development tasks were specified and managed to completion. Served as a technical lead and mentor to the new development team in India. Writing development tasks, code reviewing and training staff on both the product and coding guidelines to ensure that the new team was up and running as quickly as possible and to high standards. Performance tuned SQL queries by refactoring statements and joins and introducing indexes to produce dramatic improvements in speed (from several minutes to less than a second). Designed and implemented several interfaces between our ERP system and 3rd Party solutions. This has enabled Customers to benefit from using both our software and existing tailored 3rd party software solutions. Managed the Development team Server hardware. Before takeover by Epicor Software managed all the IT for the UK operations.

 Developed, supported and project managed a basic ERP system for a Steel Stockholder (VB6 and SQL Server 7). Also gained exposure to ActiveX, COM and object oriented techniques.

 Designed and developed an Intranet based Personnel Management system using SQL Server, HTML, ASP and Visual Basic. Designed and implemented several Year 2000 test plans. Developed, maintained and supported a number of bespoke ERP systems.

 Managed the IT helpdesk, which supported 90 users, on and off site. Supported a variety of servers, Network and telecoms equipment.  Supported and maintained an existing Document Management system. Developed a Helpdesk application and several small marketing programs to display technical information on Medical drugs.
