Infrastructure Project Engineer. Manage projects and Move & Changes on the Campus infrastructure for all new and existing buildings that are to have new Fibre back bone (OM1, 2, 3 and OS1) and internal Data Voice CAT6 structured cabling. Maintain and support the University’s existing Cabling Infrastructure (40,000 port copper and approximately 5,000 core Fibres, across the 750 acre campus) and voice distribution internal and external.Oversee 3rd party external contractors and see that they work to the universities specifications and adhere to the Health and Safety policy. Assist the Team Leader in the preparation of technical papers, specifications and estimates for works. Implement RFC (request for change) and attend meetings.Conduct site surveys with the external contractors and submit quotes to the relevant departments Update AutoCAD drawings and keep documentation up to date.Assist in the moves and changes of all data and voice installations. Create patching schedules for department re-locations Liaison with all the university’s departments and main building contractors.Carry out Data Fibre and Voice installations and complete relevant testing and document accordingly Control Data Centre management issues including power, A/C, Access control and installation of servers
