Hello, and welcome to my LinkedIn page! My name is Mark and I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science at Rice University. My peers often describe me as a persistent problem solver, with a drive to succeed in everything I do. I am currently working as a software engineer with the Rice Bioinformatics Research team to develop and launch a new Python library and framework—called PhyNetPy— for the field of Phylogenetics. In innovating and authoring all aspects of this new software, I will gain experience in developing fast, scalable, and extensible algorithms and class structures that will bring a never before seen ease of use in the space.
