I am the Course Director at ARU Law School, a hugely exciting job at a hugely exciting place. I work with a great team of people, committed to teaching Law to the highest standards. My job involves developing the student experience as a whole, which I see as creating as broad a preparation for life after university as possible. I am very interested in exploring ways in which the COVID generation can be helped through university life, and looking at the step between KS5 and Level 4 as a whole.In 2021 I was called to the Bar at The Middle Temple, and whilst I would love to get on my feet, I work with amazing students and have the immense privilege of looking forward to going to work every day.There is also the immensely appealing prospect of working with a group of colleagues in an Access to Remedy Project, so I am going to force my way into some legal thinking too.I taught Level 3 Criminal Litigation for the Cilex Exams and Business Law at Levels 3, 4 and 7 for Anglia Ruskin University College. I was Head of RE, Citizenship, Philosophy and Law at secondary school level for 16 years. I can claim some good results but more importantly, I hope to have assisted in creating a people who believe and support freedom of speech, belief, justice and equality. My wife and I are an adoptive parents, foster carers and approved Special Guardians. This has played a huge role in us becoming who we are. Professionally I am a former member of the NAHT Edge Union, the Human Rights Lawyers Association and from my teaching days, the International Society of Philosophers. As a hobby, I interest myself in managing a small property portfolio and have explored some areas of development. I have considerable experience in doing research for PLO proceedings, Child Arrangement Orders, Safeguarding meetings and Education and Employment tribunals. I am not unfamiliar with the disciplinary procedures of the FA.My past has included being a school governor, a pastor, church secretary and secretary of Doncaster Beetle Club, which pleased a distant cousin, who was an entomologist, until I told him I had painted my beetle white and fitted a tape player. A semi frustrated author, I still enjoy doing it but all the agents that have looked at my stuff have side-stepped being enthusiastic so far. Some might say lack of talent, I prefer alternatively talented.This year I launched into growing my own vegetables. I managed 16 broad beans, a bucket of broccoli, two dozen tomatoes and a marrow.
