Dr. Mark Kram is the Founder and CTO for Groundswell Technologies, Inc., a group specializing in automated monitoring and web based visualization of sensor network data. Dr. Kram has over 35 years of experience using and developing innovative environmental assessment techniques and has authored papers, national standards, articles and book chapters on the subject. Dr. Kram has been instrumental in the areas of vapor intrusion, sensor development and implementation, innovative GIS applications, DNAPL site characterization, chemical field screening and monitoring well design, and holds several patents for high resolution hydrogeologic and chemical characterization tools and automated continuous environmental monitoring and resource management approaches. Dr. Kram is credited with designing and implementing a seminal effort that resulted in regulatory approval for the use of direct push wells for long-term monitoring, which has most likely saved hundreds of millions of dollars (and counting) for the global environmental industry. Dr. Kram is an active member of NGWA, ASTM, and ITRC, and is a recipient of the National Ground Water Association's prestigious Technology Award and the 2014 ASTM D18 Technical Editors Award.Dr. Kram aims to solve critical environmental, energy and business challenges using web based automated reporting services he developed with his colleagues.
