About Mark Krupiarz
I started with the Michigan Department of Corrections in July of 1988 as a Corrections Officer graduating fourth in my class. In 1995 I was promoted to Sergeant. In 2005 I was promoted to Lieutenant and I finished my career by being promoted to Captain in 2007. During my career I earned 14 Letter of Commendation for actions taken above and beyond the normal call of duty. I served the facility as a uniformed trainer teaching courses such as Sexual Harassment, First Aid/CPR, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus and several more.In 2011 I purchased an online news source, EUP News. The site was receiving roughly 110 views per month. After redesigning the site and hiring two writers, the viewership increased to more than 7,000 per month. In 2020, our viewership has increased to more than 12,000 per month, which would place EUP News as the largest locally-owned news source in the region.I retired from the State of Michigan in June 2013 and concentrated on building EUP News. After eight years of retirement and successful business ownership, I'm looking to get back into "organized" employment in the security or management field.
