I consider myself a storyteller and have a passion for communicating messages through many different genres.NOVEL WRITINGI have proudly written my first novel and am nearing completion of my second book. My first book, The Legend of Tehdrin, tells a story of Zehrek who appearing to be thirteen years old wakes up alone with no memory of his life, no family, and facing the daunting task of discovering who he is and how he is uniquely different from everyone else. Along his way, he makes friends who stand with him while he makes discoveries about where he comes from and "what" he is. He also encounters foes who not only have preconceptions about Zehrek, but are frightened by what they don't understand. Themes explored in the novel include the pains of being a misfit, the ties of family, what holds friendships together, coming of age, the importance of protecting our world, and the future of the human species. Zehrek's story unfolds among the towering pines of the Northern Wisconsin Forest in the Village of Eagle River.FILMMAKINGMy storytelling passion extends to making movies. My documentary film Watershed shows how poor water quality affects a community in Wisconsin along Lake Michigan. Residents talk about their experiences surrounding the water including contaminated wells, beach closures, shipwreck diving, and recreation. Remarkable underwater footage shows how contaminated Lake Michigan became after the June 2008 Midwest floods.MUSICStories have long been told through music. If a picture can tell a thousand words, music can surely tell a thousand emotions. I have been a musician my whole life, and with my storytelling passion, I enjoy the opportunity to tell a story through music.
