Museum Curator for the National Corrections Academy (NCA) Museum. The NCA Museum is the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) officially-sanctioned museum encompassing the entire history of the BOP under the Department of Justice. The museum contains displays, artifacts, & memorabilia which strive to tell the story of the BOP from the establishment of the Federal Prison System in 1891 through today.

Responsible for leading the AFJROTC detachment to include curriculum, training, counseling and mentoring, extra-curricular activities (drill, physical fitness, community service). Supervised approximately 100 cadets and one assistant Aerospace Science Instructor. Instilled in cadets an appreciation for citizenship, desire & action for community service, responsibility, character, & self-discipline while delivering instruction in air & space fundamentals. Community-service liaison to Palm Springs and other local communities. In 10 months, unit performed 45 Color Guards, 4 parades, 1,0000+ service hours spreading patriotism and goodwill. Unit competed in national “Cyber-Patriot” on-line network defense competition reaching 2d round. Unit competed in national JROTC “Academic Bowl” reaching 2d round

Represents the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff in advocating U.S. Communications and Information Systems (CIS) policies to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Coordinates with Joint Staff, Office of Secretary of Defense, Department of Defense Chief Information Officer, and State Department. Senior advisor to the U.S. Military Representative to NATO on all CIS issues to include Cyber Defense. Analyzes and aligns issues to meet President of the United States, Office of the Secretary of Defense, State Department, and Joint Staff interests. Negotiates with 49 NATO and Partnership for Peace nations on all CIS-related issues.

Joint Staff Action Officer to the Military Representative for HQ NATO, Communications and Information Systems Plans and Policy Division. Advocates U.S. Communications and Information Systems (CIS) policies to NATO through coordination with the Joint Staff, Office of Secretary of Defense and State Department.

Directed and managed innovative, cost-effective national security policy research for the United States Department of Defense. Guided over forty geographically dispersed researchers ensuring U.S. DoD research interests were met. Reviewed and edited final research papers and reports for publication through various media. Implemented an online publications series for the Institute ensuring quick dissemination of timely and relevant research findings.

As the Core Division Chief, provided vision and direction for DFMI’s largest division consisting of three courses influencing 3,000+ cadets yearly. Supervised seven instructors, approved lesson objectives, curriculum, texts, and assessments for freshman and senior level courses and for USAFA’s Scholar’s Program MSS 400 core course, Joint and Coalition Operations. Conducted classroom evaluations and provided feedback to 36 Air Force, Navy, Army, Japanese and British exchange officers as well as PhD civilians ensuring instructor competency and standardization. Responsible for ensuring all coursework synchronized with USAFA learning outcomes. As the Regional Military Studies Division (RMS) provided vision and direction for eight course directors in developing six regional military studies courses centered on each of the six U.S. Combatant Commands. Approved lesson objectives, curriculum, texts, and assessments for junior and senior level MSS Major’s courses. Supervised eight instructors, conducted classroom evaluations and provided feedback ensuring instructor competency. Ensured synchronization with USAFA learning outcomes. Adjunct professor for Politics of Latin America, a Political Science Major’s course for the Political Science Department. Academically advised numerous freshman cadets, an entire cadet squadron (approximately 120 cadets), and a small number of MSS Majors.

Designed and taught "Security and Strategy, Classic and Modern Ideas", a graduate-level course for Korbel’s Masters Degree program. Designed curriculum, selected learning objectives, texts and readings, assessments and lesson plans. Course considered the changes in technologies, societies, and international norms that have contributed to a dynamic and complex security environment that has reshaped the context of political-military strategy. It explored the question for practitioners today: what are the fundamentals of strategy which can be effectively applied to the new complex security challenges we face?

Earned a Doctorate in International Studies in November 2006. Focus areas were International Politics, Comparative Politics and Security. Dissertation Topic: North American Security Cooperation, Prospects for Growth.

Course Director, "Introduction to Military Strategic Studies". Responsible for the development, approval, and execution of MSS 111, Introduction to Military Strategic Studies, the largest core course at USAFA managing fifteen instructors and nearly 1,800 cadets. Provided classroom instruction tools, lesson plans and classroom material for instructors use throughout the course. Conducted in-class evaluations and provided feedback for the fifteen instructors teaching this course ensuring instructor competency and standardization. Created assessments.

Provided policy and guidance for strategic planning to four Air Force warfighting entities and nine squadrons in the Pacific region. Directed communications and information doctrine development, strategy task analysis and mission-essential tools production. Developed Knowledge Management solutions ensuring current Information Technology tools were optimzed while efficiently satisfying mission requirements throughout HQ PACAF. Led team to deliver HQ PACAF’s first-ever intranet providing communication and coordination support for over 800 action officers providing audio, visual, chat-text and work-flow tasking/tracking capabilities in a real-time environment. Team garnered first-ever Microsoft/USAF Innovator of the year award, 2000.

Senior HQ PACAF planner responsible for space and deployable communications systems. Identified deficiencies in existing capabilities, plans and programs solutions. Responsible for planning and integrating deployable communications architectures for the Air Force in the Pacific region. Coordinated with various governmental agencies to develop implementation plans for space-based systems. Air Force Pacific region focal point for all planning issues dealing with multi-billion dollar programs.

Flight Commander: Responsible for supervising and training a USAF student squadron of 100 officer trainees (OT)s. Supervised ten instructors resulting in 800+ newly commissioned Air Force officers. Guided instructors and OT chain-of-command in maintaining the highest standards of discipline, developing unit esprit-de-corps, and implementing squadron training programs. Counseled OTs, on aptitude and conduct deficiencies and made recommendations concerning fitness of candidates for commissioned service to the squadron commander. Directly responsible for training and evaluating the instructor corps. Provided in-service training, and ensured instructor proficiency, standardization, and excellence. Flight Training Officer: Responsible for supervising, training, and commissioning flights of approximately thirteen OTs every 13.5 weeks. Conducted pre-commissioning training, evaluations, and counseling for OTs. Presented classroom lectures, guided discussions, and field leadership exercises and critiques. Made recommendations concerning fitness of candidates for commissioned service to the Flight Commander

Key staff advisor to the unit commander. Directly interfaced with Australian Department of Defense, civil authorities and U.S. Embassy staff. Responsible for mission success by a squadron with approximatley 440 U.S., Australian military and civilian personnel. Directly responsible for effective mission support, specifically: Personnel, Information Management, Education and Training, Medical Liaison, and Security Police. Reviewed, edited, and coordinated all unit’s staff work. Decision authority for personnel and disciplinary actions for 180 USAF personnel.

Supervised Space Systems Software Maintenance shop composed of Australian civilian and USAF analysts in maintaining real-time missile warning software at the operational site. Managed the integration, installation, and testing of all operational software. Performed end-to-end tests of strategic command and control communication links to Australian and United States National Command Authorities.

Supervised three in analyzing and resolving problems in real-time operational computer sofware for the premier Department of Defense early missile-warning system. Designed and tested software solutions to enhance the satellite positioning software. Responded to emergency problems in primary and auxiliary satellite positioning software. Reviewed design modifications of multi-million dollar software upgrades. Directed seven in developmental testing of new software versions for operational sites dispersed around the world.

Successfully completed Basic Communications Officer Training Course with an academic average of 93.74 percent. Learned basic career-field skills and knowledge in several areas to include: electronic and computer principles, radio, air traffic services, communications-computer system networking, life-cycle management, configuartion management.

Successfully completed the rigorous USAF Basic Officers Training Program earning a commission as a second lieutenant in the USAF. Evaluation areas included leadership and management, oral and written communications, professional knowledge, and physical fitness.

Designed, implemented, and tested all instructor station software for the Navy EA-6B full-motion slight simulator. Instructor station consisted of three separate monitors, instrument repeater panel, two touch panels, touch balls and various other hardware input and output devices.

Designed, implemented and tested software-hardware interface database and various avionics models software for USAF B-1 Bomber maintenance trainer simulators and Navy Trident Submarine sonar trainer/simulator.
