At the request of the Supervisory Board of K+S, re-assumed role of CEO of Morton Salt to spear-head the process of selling K+S's North and South America salt business (including Morton Salt), while continuing responsibility as an operational Executive Board Member of K+S.▪ Successfully led the sale process, resulting in a deal with Stone Canyon Industries Holdings for a 12.5x EBITDA multiple.o Sale price significantly exceeded capital market expectations. o Led interface with investment bankers, legal advisors and K+S Supervisory Board.o Led management presentations to numerous prospective buyers.o Interfaced with the Department of Justice as it reviewed the deal.o Signed the deal in October 2020 and closed the deal in April 2021 after extensive anti-trust review by the Department of Justice and Canadian Competition Bureau.▪ Led the business during the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining a high level of employee safety, engagement and morale.o Actively reduced business complexity and refocused company on key priorities to ensure a high level of financial performance through the pandemic.o Communicated regularly via virtual town hall meetings and regularly recorded videos.▪ Initiated a broadly embraced Inclusion & Diversity program, including training for all leadership and creation of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

During entire tenure, responsible for Salt Business Unit.▪ Beginning in 2013, set a long-term strategic road map for the Salt Business Unit and achieved the Salt 2020 financial plan years ahead of schedule; this was the first time a five-year plan had been developed.▪ Successfully defended against takeover bid by PCS in 2015.▪ In 2017 when the Board was reduced to four members, took on the role of Chief Operating Officer, responsible for all operational aspects of the company’s global salt and potash businesses (production, sales/marketing, supply chain, etc.). Responsible for the entire K+S business and 14,000 employees across multiple continents.▪ Reorganized the company into a matrix as part of the K+S “Shaping 2030” strategy.▪ Guided the company through the collapse in the global potash market.▪ Led an operational excellence program across Europe and the Americas.▪ Implemented a program to reduce SG&A cost.

After the K+S acquisition of SPL (Sociedad Punta de Lobos, Chile) in 2006, asked to run ISCO, the North American piece of the business.▪ Full P&L responsibility for 150 people and refining and manufacturing sites.▪ Asked to join team looking to expand company’s global salt footprint, eventually leading to the acquisition of Morton Salt in 2009.

For the North American sales arm of the K+S Group, first served as Sales Manager (1992 – 1995), then Vice President (1995 – 2004) and ultimately President (2004 – 2008), being the first non-German to run the business since it was founded in the late-1800s. Significantly grew and diversified the business over this tenure.
