As the only internal recruiter within the business, I oversee all aspects of the company’s recruitment process, across all 10 sites. When I joined the business, the company were solely reliant on agencies, spending over £1.1m per annum with over 40 different agencies. Within my time I have reduced agency spending by £300k per annum, reduced the company PSL from 43 agencies down to 10 and trained all managers on how to streamline their recruitment process. I have also implemented an ATS system, using TeamTailor, and have had to create the company careers page and regularly update the information on this. I have also been involved in managing recruitment open days, building relationships with local authorities to assist with recruitment needs. The recruitment within this business is a mixture between mass recruitment and niche individual recruitment, ranging from shop floor level NMW style roles through to high end senior level roles.

This is a high-volume recruitment role working internally for a major health care provider who specialise in Mental Health and Learning Difficulties. I am overseeing all aspects of recruitment for sites throughout Scotland, Southampton, Northwest, and the Northeast. I am working on up to 50 roles at a time with some of these roles being hard to fill specific skill sets, such as mental health nurses, and high-volume roles such as support workers. I have also overseen running numerous open days which includes creating adverts, assisting with marketing, booking in large numbers of applicants for the day and hosting the event. I have always had to be efficient with my time management as I have various sites to look after and cannot let any of them fall behind on staffing levels, because low numbers of staff mean sites cannot run properly and residents cannot be cared for efficiently.
