Have lived in Monterey County for more than 50 years and worked in produce (Fresh Express, Mann Packing) and freight (Skyway, Roadway). Know the history of the Salinas Valley produce and grapes - customers greatly enjoy hearing.2004-Present (in chronological order - specific dates uncertain)Wine AssociateJoyce Vineyards - Assisted Frank Joyce with events at the Steinbeck Center, then opened first tasting room in an art gallery in Carmel Valley Village. Worked weekends at Joyce new tasting room at 19 East Carmel Valley Road. Pessagno Winery - Met Anthony Pessagno at a wine class at CSUMB. Joined Pessagno wine club and poured on weekends. Donated my record collection. Laura and I are the first couple to marry at Pessagno. Stopped work when Steve Pessagno passed.Morgan Winery - Joined Morgan club and poured on weekends. Stopped work when a more senior associate moved to full-time.Talbott Winery - Joined Talbott club and poured on weekends at the winery. Were advised by Robb Talbott early on that he was selling. Was called one day to come into the Carmel Valley Village tasting room and was met by E&J Gallo management. Was offered to continue pouring but chose not. DTC manager referred me to McIntyre Vineyards.McIntyre Vineyards - worked independently on Saturdays. Laid off during the pandemic.Hahn Family Wines - Had been a club member in the early 2000 and went to work in May, 2021. I retired from CSUMB in May, 2022 and increased my days from Saturdays to add Fridays and Mondays. Won the majority of monthly “most sales by hours worked” during my tenure. Laid off due to sale of the company to E&J Gallo.I like to say that EJ Gallo is just following me and buying the winery I’m working at!!!
