Mark graduated from Latrobe University, Melbourne in 1987 and became a APA Sports Physiotherapist in 1997.At the Sydney Olympics, he oversaw the Weightlifting competition and the Athletics warm-up track at the Sydney Olympic stadium. He was selected on the Australian medical headquarters team at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games and followed this up with the Oceania team at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and team physiotherapist with the British Virgin Islands team at the New Delhi 2010 and Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.Mark has been developing systematic assessment and treatment techniques for Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders for over 25 years and produced the 4 DVD series 'The Latimer Technique for TMJ Assessment and Treatment". This has been his passion and has finalised a program which isolates individual structures of the TMJ's so that a differential diagnosis can be made. Further, as problematic structures which cause clicking, bruxing, stiffness, pain or locking can be pinpointed, they can be very effectively treated using new manual therapy techniques. Clicking and bruxing can be eliminated permanently with appropriate treatment.He has conducted over 25 weekend seminars nationally and internationally, teaching health professionals (physiotherapists, chiropractors and dentists) how to use his systematic approach to TMJ assessment and treatment. He has taught these to over 130 physiotherapists and dentists both nationally and internationally. Mark enjoys public speaking and has presented at a number of international, national and local dental and physiotherapy conferences and seminars. He continues to explore different avenues in which to educate others worldwide about his new approach to TMJ treatment and welcomes offers to present to interested groups.
