    Aliso Canyon Turbine Replacement Project - Aliso Canyon is SoCal Gas’ largest underground natural gas storage field and one of the largest in the United States. The existing gas turbine driven compression equipment and associated utilities installed in 1970 are being replaced with a more efficient and reliable system designed for 600 MMscfd. Responsible for the Engineering and Design of the natural gas compression facility that included three 22,000 HP electric-motor driven centrifugal compressors capable of compressing natural gas to 3400 psig for injection into the storage field. Voith Vorecon dual torque convertor variable speed drives are used for varying compressor speeds. Air cooled heat exchangers are used to cool the compressed gas before discharge from the facility.
