Mark Levinstein is a civil trial lawyer. He has been with Williams & Connolly in Washington, D.C. for more than 40 years, a partner for 34 years. He specializes in antitrust; business litigation; arbitration; sports controversies/disputes; and representing clients in crisis situations. 1979 University of Virginia grad. 1982 Harvard Law grad. 1982-83 Law clerk-US District Judge W. Arthur Garrity, Jr. 1980-1992 Mark worked with Professor Phillip Areeda on his antitrust casebook and treatise. An adjunct law professor at U.Va. Law School since 2015, Mark teaches Professional Sports Law. Since 1985, Mark has been an adjunct professor at several law schools -Catholic University, George Washington U., Georgetown U., George Mason's Antonin Scalia Law School, and UVa Law School, teaching antitrust, advanced antitrust, and sports law.For 40 years, Mark’s antitrust practice has involved trial work and advice for plaintiffs and defendants, litigation, arbitration, internal investigations, criminal and civil antitrust matters, antitrust compliance programs, and defense against government enforcers and private parties. His antitrust experience involves over sixty different industries, trial and appellate courts, plaintiffs and defendants, state and federal courts. His civil litigation practice has included antitrust, contract, employment, FCPA, franchise, intellectual property, labor, RICO, sports, tort, unfair competition, professional liability, and commercial cases. His sports practice has involved more than forty (40) different sports, representing leagues, teams, team owners, team executives, coaches, scouts, players associations, national governing bodies, the USOC, event producers, universities, sponsors, licensees, professional, Olympic, collegiate, and amateur athletes. Since 1996 he has been the outside counsel and acting executive director for the US Men's National Soccer Team players association.Mark is co-author of a Sports Law casebook that examines Commissioner power, antitrust, labor law, intellectual property, agent issues, and many other sports industry legal issues. Identified in Chambers-America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and as one of “The Best Lawyers in America.” Named by his peers as the Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year for Sports Law in the District of Columbia for 2017 and 2021. Profiled in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in American Education.
