I spent over 35 years working for the Home Office in a number of high profile roles in both operational and project management environments. Prior to that I was an insurance and pensions underwriter for the NFU Mutual Insurance Society.I have led development of business cases and their underpinning cost:benefit models for several GMPP programmes including e-Borders, the Immigration Case Work programme, Communications Capabilities Development programme and Digital Services at the Border Programme. In all cases I have worked with stakeholders, including commercial partners, to secure business buy-in and smooth passage through the approvals process. I have also provided support on business case development to a number of projects within the Home Office and policing.In my most recent role I led all aspects of development and delivery of a new immigration caseworking system in an Agile environment including its successful transition to product lifecycle management. I have led both operational and project delivery teams, providing an excellent role model creating and fostering positive behaviours. I encourage creative approaches with managed risk taking to empower teams.I am an accredited Gateway review team leader and have undertaken reviews into a number of major programmes.I have an analytical and logical approach which, allied to high standards of literacy, numeracy and reasoning, allows me to present complex information effectively to a range of audiences.As London correspondent for BUSES magazine, I produce a monthly feature reporting on newsworthy developments in relation to bus services in the UK capital in addition to other, ad-hoc, content.
