Employed as the Plant Manager at a very busy site in the business of the Incineration of Clinical waste. I am responsible for 2 Incineration plants and the only Bio Systems plant the Company has in the UK.. Responsible for pay, holidays, training, health and safety and discipline for 38 workers over a 3 shift pattern. I am also responsible for all maintenance conducted on the plant by our Engineers, having to plan for all shutdowns liaising with contractors and insurance inspectors. Also ensuring all audits are passed. Due to the nature of the business I also liaise with the Environmental Agency having to send regular reports. Also managing various KPI's and responsibility for managing and prioritising the Plant budget including P&L and Capex.

Supervisor of an Electrical Engineering team ensuring M/E Plant is organized to meet operational and statutory requirements. I had direct control of the team in the inspection, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of port assets and equipment on ABP Hull Sites. Ensuring Priority requirements of the port are met and the use of machinery and labour is optimized. To enable this I :Ensured health and safety matters are followed as per the ABP health and Safety policy. Ensured staff were working within Port safety requirements including safe systems of work and safety codes at all times.Liaising with customers both internal and external on matters such as breakdowns and areas of concern at the port of Hull and all other engineering issues.Issue Permits and Isolation certificates as required as a senior authorised person as defined in the Associated British Ports Electrical Safety Rules.Liaised with contractors and monitord work practices including safety monitoring as laid down in the control of contractors procedures.Ensured all inspection, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of port assets and equipment on ABP Hull Sites are carried out.

Manager for a team of 18 Engineers. Ensuring all Engineering tasks within the organisation are carried out enabling the company to fulfil their obligations to their customers.Responsible for introducing a 5S system into the company to ensure leaner working practices.Point of contact for external equipment maintenance companies, and for ensuring internal maintenance activities are carried out.

Responsible for the discipline and training (military and technical) of 70+ tradesmen to ensure the workshop had the correct amount of tradesmen trained on various equipments. Thus enabling the Regiment to be effective both on operations abroad and in the UK. Directly responsible for the adherence to SHE, including Risk and COSHH assessments.

Employed as the subject matter expert in a Reserve Army Regiment to advise the Commanding Officer in engineering matters. Responsible for health and safety matters within the Regiment, also ensuring that the Regiment were adhering to their Equipment Care directive and that their directive followed the processes laid down by DEME (A), enabling them to pass an external Audit. implementing an Engineering Management System to give clear guidance to both soldiers and civilian staff employed on camp. Devised training plans for Reserve soldiers enabling them to progress with military and trade qualifications as quickly as possible.

Fitter section manager responsible for ensuring that an Infantry Company had its vehicles and equipment available to use on operations and for exercise abroad and in the UK, this included ensuring all vehicle service and maintenance required was carried out. Responsible for a fitter section of 10, ensuring they were trained both in military and trade skills to ensure all equipments were covered by competent tradesmen and so the soldier was ready for the next stage of their career.
