Management of Infrastructure team consisting of applications, networks (WAN & LAN), SAN, Cloud, server infrastructure staff and managed services resources. 2IC when the CIO is unavailable.Recent highlights include: Back end Infrastructure projects – Cisco network upgrade, San upgrade, Server upgrades (all within three months) and Comms upgrades to Adelaide, Brisbane and Singapore. Cost savings initiatives in the WAN Service Providers space were identified and actioned which resulted in reduced operational costs for the Institute whilst maintaining quality of service. The most recent project was the relocation of our DR site ~ 600kms.Prior to this, I have managed and proven experience in the successful upgrade of our SAN (EMC) and server environments (IBM), with the inclusion of replication of data to our DR site. Proven experience implementing and managing virtualised server environments (VMware/HyperV) and complex multinational sites. This included negotiating with vendors in the Asian Pacific Regions and discussions with senior management within the Business.Two new data centres (Sydney and Singapore), migrating ISP's, establishing SAN replication to a national site, refreshing server infrastructure, Palo Alto VPN’s, Palo Alto firewalls, and HA VMware technologies were also established over the past few years.The focus in recent time has been on simplification, automation and integration. The philosophy is any app, anywhere, anytime, any device.Proven management and negotiations with external parties for the successful implementation of solutions and equipment in line with the Institutes Strategic IT goals. I also develop and communicate policies to ensure efficient system security and maximize effectiveness for users of the Institute’s network and instigate network infrastructure change and release management processes in accordance with ITIL as part of risk management.
