Deputy Chief, Media Relations
CurrentServes as deputy media operations officer and official spokesperson for U.S. European Command. Researches, coordinates, and disseminates timely and accurate responses to media requests for information about U.S. European Command programs, plans, policies, operations or activities that may be complex and sensitive in nature. Applies an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of public affairs functions including media relations, command information and communication planning. Routinely communicates and engages with public affairs personnel from: U.S. European Command directorates and leadership, component commands, NATO/SHAPE, U.S. Embassies, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and U.S. European Command Allies and partner nations to achieve U.S. European Command communication objectives. Prepares senior leaders, staff and subject matter experts for interactions with national and international news media. Identifies requirements for communication products in support of news media engagements. Creates and coordinates the public release of information products, ensuring publicly released information conforms to established style, grammar, formatting and content guidelines as well as all applicable policies. Interim manager for U.S. European Command's website, Facebook and Twitter accounts; coordinated and planned content.
