Currently working on a new exciting education / blockchain project - Uppercent - looking forward to sharing more in due course. I continue to be involved in as a co-founder of Toxic Arts, as well as writing, presenting and producing various film and music projects.I worked as a professional musician and music producer in my 20s. As bassist/producer for Second Person, we toured extensively and released three albums over a ten year period. I then moved into film composing and film production. I've been fortunate to have worked in most areas of the production process, including writing and directing a number of film / music video projects. Much of this work involved managing teams: focussing, inspiring and supporting their creative visions - the part of the job I enjoyed most.During this time I also tutored Maths & Sciences. I gained a reputation as problem solver - taking on students who were experiencing high degrees of difficulty in their personal and/or academic lives. Much of this work was challenging, but hugely rewarding. Drawing on my own experiences/difficulties as a child, most of my work centred around teaching students how to learn for themselves and helping to re-develop their natural love of learning.In 2012, I co-founded the EdTech startup Tutorfair — and we exited 10 years later. The company used a portion of their profits to help over 10,000 students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The foundation continues to this day, and we are committed to delivering high quality education and support to where it’s most needed.I'm continually looking for ways that technology can improve and support education for all and our collective creative endeavours.
