I manage a team of environmental scientists and engineers involved in provision of the full range of professional services, including environmental studies, freshwater ecology, appropriate assessment, SEA, catchment management, water quality studies and geographical information systems. I have gained experience in numerous catchment management studies set up under the Water Framework Directive (WFD) to assist in the achievement of the WFD objectives in the North Western and Neagh Bann International River Basin Districts. I was assistant project manager in the INTERREG IVa Freshwater Pearl Mussel Project, and I am an approved stage 1 and stage 2 FPM surveyor. I have also undertaken juvenille habitat mapping in a number of FPM rivers to assess this critical stage in the species life cycle and was also involved in the development of the 27 sub basin management plans for the FPM SAC catchments. My experience also includes preparation and co-ordination of numerous environmental assessments for major infrastructure developments. Recent projects include the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Gas to the West, comprising the construction of approximately 185km of pipeline linking seven new towns to the existing gas transmission network, the preliminary and detailed routeing and EIA for the South-North Gas Pipeline, the North East Gas Storage Project, the EIA, EIS and EIR for the N56 Dungloe to Glenties (Kilraine) Road Improvement Scheme, the environmental appraisal of electricity transmission system reinforcement options in the north west of Ireland and an evidence based study for the development of electricity transmission projects in Ireland.
