• Work on GM enterprise team to enable the €2.2 billion sale of GM Opel business unit to French Automaker Groupe PSA (now Stellantis). Collaborate with GM Corporate Development, Mergers and Acquisitions team and members from Vehicle Engineering, Propulsion Engineering, Finance, Legal, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Portfolio Planning. • Support the creation of a bi-directional Master Engineering Service Agreement (MESA), Change Management Governance Process, and Information Technology transition plan. Directly manage a sub-team defining more than 90 propulsion engineering project plans to support the Vehicle/Propulsion portfolio of each company during the multi-year post-sale transition period as well as confirmation of transaction valuation. Co-lead negotiations with partner executive from GM Vehicle Engineering with PSA and their outside legal counsel to finalize MESA and Vehicle/Propulsion engineering project plans. • GM Executive Champion for University of California Berkeley. • Global Leader for Powertrain-Vehicle Integration. Manage extended global team of 80-250 employees in Propulsion System Integration, Noise-Vibration, Certification and Compliance. Report to the VP of Global Propulsion Engineering. Drive collaboration among senior engineering leaders and their teams in Engines, Transmissions, Hybrid Systems, Embedded Controls, Chassis, Thermal, Vehicle Electrical Systems, Body/Interior, Vehicle Integration, and Advanced Vehicle Development. • Enable execution in global vehicle programs and std work in engineering centers in the United States, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Korea, China, and Australia. Enhance GM Global Vehicle Development Process to optimize learning cycles and operationalize use of Road-Lab-Math processes to reduce physical properties, execution time, and first-time quality of programs. Implement common methods globally and balance content across vehicle systems.• Serve as Propulsion lead for the “Project J” task force, created in response to the 2011 Japanese earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. Work across the GM enterprise to re-establish critical supply chain linkages and provide urgent engineering support.• Member of the GM Energy and Environmental Strategy Board Core Team. Serve as GM Powertrain Engineering lead for bio and alternative fuels. • Lead the performance integration of GM front wheel drive and performance cars. Aspects including vehicle dynamics, noise-vibration, energy-drive quality and all dimensions of vehicle technical specification attainment and balance of requirements. • Work with peer directors to operationalize new vehicle integration performance center housing more than 500 employees. Serve concurrently as acting Director of Energy and Drive Quality and acting Director of Vehicle Performance for truck products and rear wheel drive cars in addition to core assignment during extended leaves of absence of peer directors. Manage up to 40 direct reports with matrixed headcount of approximately 300.• Lead task force to define methodologies and content to integrate engine cylinder deactivation technology for maximum fuel economy attainment while controlling inherent noise-vibration and drive quality problems. Lead initiative to improve vehicle noise-vibration performance thru balancing of vehicle and powertrain content. • Continue as GM lead for AVTCs with U.S. DOE and Argonne National Laboratory (Challenge X).
