HATCH Workshop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Stockton, CA that operates as a public makerspace and arts education center offering the community access to tools, machinery, equipment, communal workspaces, and classes to develop skills in the mediums of wood, metal, ceramics and permaculture. Coordinate environmental educational opportunities at Hatch Workshop. Promote a monthly workshop called the Stockton Permaculture Meetup. Network with various speakers for each event. The book earned Linda the Hawaii Hero of Forgiveness Award. -- Michael Light’s Full Moon: Editorial Assistant. In 1999 worked closely with landscape photographer Michael Light to produce his internationally acclaimed masterwork. -- TerraQuest Virtual Galápagos Expedition: Field Correspondent . In 1996 composed daily dispatches for historic satellite webcasts from aboard a sailing ship navigating Darwin's famed islands. -- Into the Wilderness: An Artist's Journey: Author of the text for this exhibit-format hard-bound art book published in 1995 by The Greenwich Workshop.-- The Nation: Guest editor for special issue on gays in the military, 1993. -- 1992 U.N. Earth Summit, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil: Assistant to David R. Brower, Earth Island Institute founder and chairman. Assisted with logistics and reporting at the alternative summit.

Forests Forever is a small nonprofit organization advocating forest restoration and forestry reform in California. Researched, wrote, and edited news articles, features and alerts on California forest issues. Translated scientific facts and bureaucratic language into lay writing to motivate people to lobby for change. Produced content for print and online newsletters, and Salsa-based e-mail alerts. Helped design and maintain the organization's website and Facebook page.

San Francisco’s BAR is the nation's oldest and most respected LGBTQ newspaper of record. In my first year, reported stories on crime, health, AIDS/HIV, housing, discrimination and other topics. Then for eight years edited the events calendar and wrote a column and feature articles on arts and entertainment. Edited the obituaries section.

Assigned, edited and wrote feature articles, news stories, essays and book reviews covering natural history, environmental politics, and outdoor exploration. Fact-checked and proofread copy.
