- Migrated 5 million constituents, with associated information, including 20 million donations, from inhouse relational database to Salesforce. Created integrations to keep the inhouse database and Salesforce in synch.- Created triggers and and batch processes to implement custom business rules and processes in Salesforce.- Created programs to integrate Salesforce with external services, including Exact Target (Marketing Cloud). Created web services to give external partners controlled access to Salesforce data.- Utilized Salesforce Communities and Sites to create front and back end components used by staff and volunteers to enter and publicize events and communicate with participants, and by participants to register and complete liability releases, when needed. The systems help organizers create thousands of events and handle hundreds of thousands of event registrations. Event information is made available to web clients and external systems via web services.- Lead developer and Design team member and for a web-based system that allows staff and volunteers at all levels throughout the country to access information about the Club's members, activists and supporters, providing a centralized view of data acquired from multiple sources. The system allows users to fine tune their outreach efforts via sophisticated selection, output and reporting capabilities as well as allowing them to enter and enhance data for future use. The system provides tools to help organizers recruit, organize and mobilize activists and supporters, and provides metrics to help organizing managers track progress. - Technical Lead for a project to use BI software to help analyze the responses to the Club's various fundraising and advocacy programs. Installed and configured JasperServer, created OLAP schemas, database star schemas and ETL scripts to load report data and created reports and views.

- Designed and programmed web interfaces to support Club's National Outings program. Potential trip participants could search for trips, check availability, sign up, pay on-line, view their reservation status and download personalized forms. Post trip, an on-line evaluation was available. Trip and Program leaders could view the evaluations and overall statistical reports were available. The ability to enter and review evaluations on-line resulted in a greatly enhanced ability to respond quickly to participant complaints, and helped improve the overall quality of the program. The self-service capabilities developed for the National Outings enabled the program to grow and improve while remaining completely self-supporting.Also produced and delivered numerous reports on line for leadership and volunteer leaders.

- Converted from in-house, minicomputer based membership system to a hybrid system. An outside vendor was used for handling mass mailings and routine renewals, while new in-house systems were developed for functions requiring more customization and personalization. Created and refined interfaces between systems. Created stored procedures and helped to develop a common architecture for client-server systems. Helped to create a new reservation system for Sierra Club Outings. Created a system for creating custom membership selections for targeted outreach efforts.
