Also designed an IO interface PCB for 10 and 30 Watt industrial LASER marking systems as part of a new model launch. Other projects involved connector and cable changes to reduce cost in various continuous ink jet (CIJ), LASER, and thermal transfer printers. The work involved component selection, cable design, verification testing, and reliability testing.

Also responsible for design and development of automated test equipment used for software verification and hardware testing. Supervised three full time engineers, 3-6 contract engineers, and three technicians in the design and construction of ten automated test systems based on National Instruments PXI hardware. The largest systems had multiple custom PCBs to route and switch over 500 signals. Each one could generate audio waveforms, DC voltages, AM, FM, and GPS RF signals, measure AC and DC voltages, and monitor Bluetooth transmissions. Also developed optically isolated control electronics for RF susceptibility and radiated emissions testing. -

Aug 1976 - Oct 2005Held title of Electrical Engineer, Senior Electrical Engineer, Group Leader, Staff Engineer, Section Manager, and Principle Staff Engineer. Developed automated test equipment for production and for design verification of automotive electronic products.Developed modular embedded test platform for life test. Firmware included a host computer interface, test executive, hardware drivers, and application tests.Used LabWindows/CVI to develop a PC based test executive and driver library for automated test equipment. The software included user interface, data logging, data acquisition, power supply control, environmental chamber control, and remote monitoring via Ethernet. Features included a master/slave capability for multiple chambers and remote control over the company network.
