Licensed Professional Civil Engineer specializing in hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis and design with additional knowledge and experience in environmental and general civil engineering. Recent projects include:• H&H analysis and design support for three replacement bridges on the Alaska Highway. Considering climate change impacts on future hydrology of glacial headwater drainages. Design of temporary in-stream structures to support construction operations.• Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) modeling using SRH-2D in support of Alaska Railroad Corporation infrastructure rehabilitation and flood mitigation design.• Develop unsteady coastal and tidal SRH-2D models and perform bridge scour analysis and design support for Alaska and New Jersey DOTs.• Louisiana Watershed Initiative Region 6 hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of coastal and inland transition zones. Coupling tidal and rainfall hydraulics using HEC-RAS 2D Rain-on-Mesh modeling. • Complex direct and indirect ice jam analyses of rivers in MT and AK. Methods include HEC-RAS 1D ice jam modeling and a unique approach to implicit ice jam modeling in HEC-RAS 2D and SRH-2D for state and private clients.• Perform HEC-RAS 2D Rain-on-Mesh modeling across HUC10 and HUC8 watersheds for base-level engineering (BLE) flood risk assessment.• Two-Dimensional (2D) surface water modeling, alternatives analysis, and design support of river crossings for Alaska Railroad Corporation.• Surface water modeling support of stream restoration projects in Colorado, including complex 1-D (HEC-RAS) and 2-D (SRH-2D & HEC-RAS) models. • Senior Hydrologist and Task Lead for waterway crossing analysis of the Alaska Stand Alone Pipeline (ASAP) project and DonlinGold Natural Gas Pipeline project.• Water resources engineering support for the Alaska Liquid Natural Gas Pipeline (Alaska LNG) project.Technical experience and expertise include:• Developing and managing hydrometric systems, performing direct discharge measurements, hydrologic surveys, snow surveys, and flood monitoring • Flood and stage frequency analyses, rainfall/runoff modeling, watershed modeling, and urban drainage studies• Steady and unsteady state one-dimensional and two-dimensional hydraulic computer modeling (e.g. HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, FLO-2D, FESWMS) • Ice floe and ice jam monitoring and modeling• Sedimentation, bank migration and scour analysis• Erosion control and hydraulic structure design
