As part of the Criterium Engineers network of professional engineers Mr. McCafferty has performed thousands of residential and commercial pre-purchase home and building inspections and structural evaluations in accordance with National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers (NABIE) standards. Mr. McCafferty performed project management of all construction materials testing services on Colorado Department of Corrections Facilities. Services included geotechnical engineering and construction quality control of building site soil conditioning and preparation, concrete drilled pier foundation construction, concrete slabs on grade, structural steel and asphalt pavements.

Mr. McCafferty performed project management of construction materials testing services including engineering condition surveys of concrete parking structures and reinforced elevated slabs. Condition surveys were typically performed for planned restoration and maintenance as well as engineering forensics. He performed as an expert witness in several cases of litigation involving construction materials. It was during this period that he attained his Michigan Professional Engineers registration. His years at Testing Engineers and Consultants also involved a wide variety of engineering consulting related to buildings and developed properties including commercial building Property Condition Assessments, pavement failure investigation, concrete failure investigation, and engineering design with repair recommendations for pavement and concrete structures. Typical clients included major developers, architectural firms, municipalities, and commercial builders.

Upon graduation from Michigan Technological University Mr. McCafferty performed inspection and recording of Steel shell driven pile foundations for a major bank commercial building; In addition, he was certified in as a Nuclear Density Gage technician and performed hundreds of soil field density tests during construction.
