API Lifestyle (Australia Post, Tel Institute Queensland Inc) was established as a not for profit organisation in 1923, to provide benefits to Australia Post employees, and is now a leading provider of employee and lifestyle benefits membership programs. API generates income through multiple channels – memberships, the extensive property portfolio (holiday accommodation and commercial) and their childcare centre operations. Previously a funded organisation, API is now 100% independently funded. As the Financial Controller, working closely with the CEO, I have helped to navigate the business through several periods of major change, ensuring the financial stability, profitability and sustainability of API. I report to the CEO and Board. I maintain sole responsible for end to end company finances - from strategic level advice, monthly board reporting through to all accounting and payroll functions.

Reporting to the previous Financial Controller, I was responsible for all the general accounting support services (accounts payable/receivable, debtor management, general ledger management, asset management etc), and gained an excellent knowledge of the API business and its complex financial set up. I implemented changes to the debt collection policy, reducing our debtors significantly and also improved our inventory management and financial position. I was approached by the Board in 2008 to take on the role of Financial Controller.

IDEMITSU is a Japanese Coal company. I was responsible for general ledger maintenance and accounts payable / receivable, before being approached by the CEO of API to return to the business as an Accountant.
