Matrixed aligned to 6 application teams and multiple business areas while providing product level program management support. Restructured project management team and worked with both IT and business partners to transition from “project” to a “product” aligned delivery model, migrating from waterfall-scrum to end-to-end agile. Realigned Project Managers and consulted with IT teams to support capabilities/assets against individual projects, resulting in a 46% increase in staffing efficiencies, reduced project expenses, and less resource contention across the portfolio.

Directed and supervised a team of 18 IT Project Managers ($30M portfolio) supporting Nationwide Direct Internet Sales and Servicing, Digital, Specialty Insurance, Brokerage Solutions, and Affinity. Matrixed aligned to 6 application teams and business areas while providing project management staffing, methodology guidance, and portfolio management support.Helped stand up a “Test and Learn” agile team and project portfolio to enable innovation of digital experiences that allowed both IT and business teams to design, develop, test, and deploy new capabilities. Enabled application team to deploy more than 40% faster utilizing Agile and DevOps framework, requiring addition of full-time project manager to manage the portfolio.Engaged to address low Gallup team engagement score inherited from previous manager (4.0 out of 5.0 scale). Increased team score from 4.00 to 4.78 resulting in top quartile recognition from Nationwide's CIO Council members and received recognition as an influential people leader focused on creating highly motivated and engaged associates.

Program Manager over all phases of conceptual design, business case development, detailed design, construction, and IT infrastructure deployment for Nationwide's new Tier IV data center ($155M). Facility was successfully constructed and deployed over 17 months and was delivered on time / within budget and received Gold LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.Won enterprise buy-in for new data center build by leading and facilitating department meetings with 15+ business leaders to communicate data center roadmap strategy to share benefits, capabilities, and proposed migration timelines.

Directed and managed a 40+ member project team ($5M budget) over a two year period while delivering innovative mainframe storage replication infrastructure from Nationwide to SunGard. This project received the One IT Outstanding Contribution Award among 40+ nominations submitted by senior leadership across the enterprise. Initiated and led the Protect Data In Transit Program including developing the business case and program strategy. Successfully negotiated with more than 40 business partners to utilize secure file transfer and virtual tape replication technology resulting in significant cost savings and elimination of tape media shipments across multiple locations.
