As an Accredited Fire Safety Engineer as well as DBPA Design Practitioner and Professional Engineer (and RPEQ in QLD and C10 in NSW), Mark brings over 20 years of fire safety engineering experience with an MSc (Fire & Explosion Engineering) from the University of Leeds, a BSc (Hons) Degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Post Graduate Degree in Fire Safety in Buildings & Structures, National Diploma in Fire Safety and National Certificate in Construction. Mark's dissertation for his MSc in Fire & Explosion Engineering received top prize for the best Research Project using CFD to investigate the limitations currently placed on Smoke Reservoirs.As part of his role, Mark works with projects from inception stage, through to completion. This involves work at tendering for projects, preparation of fee agreements, involvement at design and approval stage, including detailed design for Alternative Solutions for variations to the prescriptive guidance codes. In addition, Mark brings his extensive experience in CFD modelling for projects, in addition to other fire and smoke zone modelling. Mark has extensive experience on construction sites on all building types and has provided extensive fire safety inspections, fire safety audits and compliance certs. Mark has extensive experience in technical details, Codes & Guidance for fire safety.Extensive experience in British, UK and European Standards and Codes of Practices, Building Code of Australia, International Fire Engineering Guidelines (IFEG) US standards (NFPA, SFPE etc) and International Codes (FM, IBC, IFC, etc).As part of his previous work in Ireland, Mark has worked in over 600 projects, and of those projects have prepared in the region of 500 Fire Safety Certificate Applications (Fire Strategy Reports and Drawing Submissions). Mark has extensive experience across all building types from residential, industrial, commercial, healthcare, assembly to name a few.
