Electrical Commissioning Manager, MDM Management Services I was subcontracted by Core Group to represent the client being Cardiff University. This project involved a short intensive timeframe to refurbish three state of the art lecture theatres at various campus locations. My duties there were to oversee the entire project management of the fit out and upgrade, managing the subcontractors trade including, electrical, data, audio visual, CCTV, life safety systems, integration with controls / BMS and assisting with plumbing and mechanical as required.

I was employed by Core Emirates who subcontracted to Leightons Asia on the Wynn Palace Casino in Macau, China (U.S $4.1 Billion). Wynn Palace is an integrated resort featuring 1700 rooms, a casino, an 8 acre performance lake, Gondolas, Spa’s Salons and luxurious retail and dinning venues. My role as part of the commissioning team was to oversee and schedule the commissioning process for all electrical systems in the building, such as HV, MV, LV systems as well as emergency systems like Generators, UPS, and CBS, ensuring that all electrical works comply with relevant specifications and standards and meet the design specs and client functionality requirements. This involved witnessing of in field testing, liaising with main contractor, sub-contractors and client, along with scheduling, documentation and planning.

Employed by PMCMD Asia, a project management, commissioning specialist, design and consultancy company, based in Thailand south east Asia. I was contracted as Electrical Commissioning Manager on the RIPAS women and children’s hospital project in Brunei Darussalam. Under my scope of works I represented the Brunei government’s Ministry of Health as a testing and commissioning specialist consultant, responsible for overseeing and verifying all MEP works to ensure that all works comply with design and functionality required by the client. Some of the systems under my scope of works included all electrical systems from transformers, generators and UPS through to general power and lighting control, communications and data transfer as well as lifts, lightning protection, CCTV, public address and voice alarm. Other specialist systems covered in my scope include plumbing and sanitary, medical gases, pneumatic tube system, nurse call and life critical systems such as fire alarm, fire protection and fire suppression. The project handover date was met on time and on budget.

I was sub contracted to Taisei Corporation and working on the Marmaray Project Turkey, which is a multi- billion dollar undersea rail tunnel, linking Asia and Europe complete with several underground tube stations in Istanbul, Turkey. My role on this project as Senior SIMS (Station Information Management System) engineer was to manage the Testing, Commissioning and Integration of all SIMS related systems and to assist with the same for other systems as needed, working with a team of professionals to achieve our goals whilst adhering to a tight time line to meet our employers requirements in a safe and efficient manner. In my role I reported to the Project and Test and Commissioning Managers and my duties included, coordinating and managing contractors to meet strict time sensitive deadlines-safely and within budget. To schedule and oversee the testing, commissioning and integration of all control systems under the umbrella of SIMS. To ensure that all testing and commissioning procedures were performed properly and according to our strict, Commissioning and Testing Quality Plan (CTQP) and that all works satisfied our employers requirements. To ensure that all documentation such as test sheets, checklist and inspection reports were collated and submitted in a timely and proper manner for submittal and handover to our employer.
