As a Contract Attorney I have worked for some of the largest law firms in Minnesota on discovery matters in complex civil litigation cases. I have gained familiarity with case development strategies in areas from construction law to product liability cases, and I have also developed an understanding of document production issues that arise in complex corporate litigation matters.

As a Judicial Law Clerk for Minnesota's Fifth Judicial District I had many responsibilities. For motions and trials, I conducted research and conferred with the Judge to determine the appropriate outcome, and when that decision was determined I was primarily responsible for drafting the Order to be entered by the court. I was also responsible for managing the Martin County law library and served as Secretary for the Martin County Children's Justice Initiative, a group that united law enforcement officials, educators and judicial branch employees in order to work toward improving services and policies relating to at-risk youth in Martin County.

As a Summer Associate at Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson & Ashmore, LLP, a full service law firm in Rapid City, SD, I gained experience typical to new associate attorneys at the third largest law firm in South Dakota. I worked closely with the firm's Trust and Estates department and helped to develop a personalized wealth planning presentation for one of the firm's high net worth clients. I also drafted an arbitration brief for a dispute relating to dissolving a medical partnership. I participated in several depositions in both a personal injury matter and in a sexual harassment lawsuit.
