In my role as Fundraising Officer for Christian Aid Ireland, I was responsible for raising funds through a variety of income streams: lead on the creation and implementation of a legacy fundraising strategy including promotions and training; worked with overseas country teams to produce funding applications to Trusts and Foundations and key Church Partnerships; developed relationships with Major Donors through engagement events and bespoke communications: and managed two volunteer-led retail shops.

Senior Local Fundraising Manager in the Volunteer Fundraising Team at Cancer Research UK. Worked with local individuals, fundraising groups and corporate partners in Belfast and parts of Counties Antrim and Down. Supported a range of corporate partners through very successful Charity of the Year partnerships including Allstate NI and Ulster Rugby, which raised £14,500 and £34,000 respectively. This included the implementation of action plans, a focus on staff engagement and support of employee-led fundraising. In addition, I received extensive in-house training on Corporate Fundraising and was part of an experienced, highly successful team with experience of working in partnership with many businesses and sectors across the UK. I supported a number of fundraising groups and developed newly formed and well-established groups who are passionate about beating cancer. I was responsible for engaging with groups and individuals to bring them closer to the work of the charity and to help implement fundraising plans within their communities. I have worked on a range of CRUK national campaigns including World Cancer Day and Stand Up To Cancer.I was promoted to the role of Senior Local Fundraising Manager within a year of starting at Cancer Research UK. As an active member of a national forum, I represented Northern Ireland at monthly meetings and in a variety of projects. I brought issues for national consideration and disseminated ideas, decisions and new approaches to the regional team. This role also involved supporting the Regional Manager with strategic and financial planning and budgeting; producing monthly reports and commentary; and, deputising for him when necessary.
