In an era of analog, Red Dot was an evolutionary idea and was instrumental in speeding up the arrival and success of many of biggest names in print and online media serving the markets of former Soviet Europe. I created one of the world's first workflows for ingesting large amounts of both digital and analog still content, and I pioneered one of the first fixed vocabularies constructed exclusively for an online photo library. Red Dot operated as an aggregator of Corbis RM and RF photography in Hungary and Serbia until its successful sale to a regional rival in late 2011.

More than four years of that were spent photographically chronicling the war in the former Yugoslavia, and included working in Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia. During the second half of the decade, I covered war and conflict in Chechnya, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Cyprus, Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, Iraq, Kuwait, Turkey, Congo, and Kosovo.My photograph of two lovers shot dead as they tried to escape Sarajevo, Bosnia, in May of 1993 won worldwide critical acclaim. The deaths of Bosnian Muslim Admira Ismic and Bosnian Serb Bosko Brkic, known to the world as Romeo and Juliet, was the subject of numerous news stories, music videos, theater productions, a ballet, as well as an Emmy Award nominated joint Canadian Broadcasting Corporation/ PBS Frontline TV documentary.
