JDSU Salem, VA Title: Test/Development Engineer • Effectively lead diverse team of 6 hardware, firmware and DSP engineers in development of handheld test equipment product resulting in a greatly improved product. • Inherited, completed development, and brought on line a test rack for the department telecom line tester product vastly improving testability and throughput.• Incorporated and completed design of an RF test fixture (100 KHz to 30 MHz) in collaboration with a principal RF engineer.

Tempo Research Vista, CA Title: Product Engineer • Managed and executed the re-design of a Cable TV Time-Domain Reflectometry (TDR) with estimated annual sales revenue for product: $600,000 and new TDR tone probe test instrument within short 2-month time frame.

Vitesse makes high speed IC's for the telecom, datacom and optical fiber markets.Architected and built high-speed evaluation board in conjunction with providing top notch applications support for an OC-192 interface chip. Project involved Circuit design, guidance of board layout person, firmware development GUI work and of course, debug. Final product provided effective demonstration capability. Executed successful and timely board bring up of an OC-48/OC-192 Switch fabric validation board and Transceiver board. This work consisted of design review, power up and debug of PPC8260 based system boards, CPU and CPLD programming (C and Verilog) and board redesign for next chipset and supporting validation team.

FTS manufactures remote monitoring equipment for forest fire and water quality management organizations.Managed and engineered 6 separate micro-controller (68hc11) based "sensor to serial port" interface products. The products were; 2 Solar radiation sensors, a temperature sensor, a water sampler, and 2 water turbidity sensors. These projects incorporated elements of analog, digital, firmware and mechanical design with the focus on micro power and robust field ready design. The products were integral to the company product line, resulting in > $1 million in system sales per year. Evaluated and integrated various pressure sensors and flow sensors, as well as water quality sensors (pH, DO...etc.) Wrote an internal test tool for sensor communication, logging, and calibration, which became an indispensable internal test and calibration tool for all SDI based sensors. Developed 4 specialized products utilizing 3 different (PIC) processors. Products were a remote transceiver power cycler device, a pager triggered power switch, a serial data multiplexer/power controller for a satellitetransmitter product and a solar/AC battery charger.

Measurex Devron builds actuators for the paper manufacturing industry.Authored programs/algorithms for a Siemens PLC that controlled multi-zone paper machine actuators using Pulse width modulation, pneumatics and Power control for a family of paper machine products. Integrated new PLC into several products significantly improving the company's product line.
