As a member of the District Teaching and Learning Team I supported Curriculum coordinators to develop a concept-based inquiry-led curriculum framework that is driven by proficiencies. I supported colleagues across 9 schools to integrate technology into the curriculum to develop the proficiencies of students, improve planning and collaboration as well as to support a Universal Design for Learning methodology. I have also led the implementation and supported more efficient use of two new Learning Management Systems - one K-5 and the other 6-12.

Introduced online learning management system as well as a one to one iPad program across the school. With a focus on developing teachers and the curriculum through technology. The most important element in this process was developing a clear strategic strategy that placed training for teachers as an integral element.I also taught Business and Economics to 14-18 year olds and coordinated work experience and partnerships with local businesses.

As part of the Fasttrack Teaching Scheme in the UK I worked in a number of schools over a 5 year period building experience and taking on leadership roles from day one. By year 4 I took on my first whole school leadership responsibility as an Assistant Principal. The real title was the "Director of the Enterprise Zone" where I ran a school, within a school. I had responsibility for 6 departments that included - Business, Economics, Computer science, Food technology, Design Technology and Product Design. Leading the staff within these subject areas was a key focus working collaboratively to develop curriculum, resources and identify training and support requirements.I also had responsibility for the pastoral elements of a year group and for developing the vocational learning opportunities not only within the school but across 3 other local secondary schools.The role also involved taking a lead role moving the school from an old building to a purpose built state of the art campus and implementing the educational technology within the school.
