To prove that the proposed development lies outside the specified design floodplain, usually the Q100 and Q200 for coastal areas as part of planning consent.- Assessing both fluvial and pluvial flooding risks to the proposed development and surrounding areas.- Investigation of ground topography, surrounding watercourses and associated run off catchments areas- Generation of extreme flows using the Rainfall-Runoff method for input to a hydraulic model- Basic build-up of HECRAS Hydraulic river model for River flood levels- Preparation of topographic survey brief for issue to third party contractor to obtain data for input to the hydraulic model. - Attenuation sizing for peak flow storm water increases. - Culvert Sizing• Surveying - Duties included gathering river cross sectional levels, channel dimension measurements and land topographical surveys, for use in modelling and calculations
