My training in the Construction Industry began when I was young. My father owned a Commercial/residential Roofing company for 34 years and at 12 years of age I worked and learned the Roofing trade part time each summer. During summers while in College I earned extra money by installing residential roofs by myself. It was back breaking challenging work. But, my father said good leaders gain the respect of others by their experience, working harder than the next guy and leading by example. After college I became a property insurance adjuster with Allstate in Michigan. I then moved to Arizona and worked as a property adjuster for USAA for 25 years. While at USAA I was promoted to a General Adjuster, the highest position within the property claims department. As a result of my training I was certified in Catastrophe Site Management, Earthquake and FEMA Flood Adjusting. My duties included Flood Team Leader, Wind Team Leader & Hotshot (servicing high profile USAA members and high dollar value properties). After working for USAA I started my own Appraisal Clause Inc. business serving as both an appraiser and umpire for both Commercial and residential claim disputes. In my spare time I served as a Scoutmaster for Troop 697 5 years, taught Sunday School, was Chairman of Planning & Zoning for the Village of Oak Creek in Sedona, AZ and was President for several non-profit organizations.
