During my time as Vice-President of Recruiting at large healthcare systems, I experienced many outside companies promising great things, but delivering with poor results. When a locums need would pop up, our hiring managers and recruitment teams end up getting stuck with unreliable and aggressive locums agencies who wanted unnecessary 1:1 meetings, and pitched unvetted providers who were out of the agreed pay range. This was frustrating, wasted time, and made the situation worse. It shouldn’t be so hard to find reliable help. Additionally, I thought all locum companies/outside agencies must be the same, fishing out of the same "physician" lake, but I found out they are not! In my recent published book, The Base Path of Success, achieving and leading others to success, I lay out a plan that fits anyone's ultimate goal of success however that is defined by them. Being raised in a small town nicknamed "The City of Champions" offered a challenge and a way of life that engrained success as a non-negotiable. I navigated through a successful sports career: Lettered in 4 sports, All-State in Football and Baseball, had my # retired, inducted in the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, received many collegiate offers to play both sports and ultimately played for Harry "the hat" Walker, of the St. Louis Cardinals. Through these experiences, I learned many valuable lessons that are applicable to business and professional lives that I enjoy sharing/connecting with others.
