Mark leads the Professional Staff Services Department - (Physician Recruiting) for the entire Ochsner Health System which consists of 42 hospitals, more than 60 health centers, more than 33,000 employees and over 2,500 affiliated physicians in more than 90 medical specialties and subspecialties. Incorporating his expertise, leadership and past success, he put together a new strategic recruiting vision that optimized efforts for unprecedented record growth for Ochsner in 2016. His team has experienced 7 straight years of record growth as he was recognized for his leadership and vision which restructured the recruiting efforts with a "Concierge Approach". In 2020 under his guidance, his department was recognized as “ Department of the Year” for the entire organization. While restructuring the department, he introduced a new applicant tracking systems and strategic sourcing methods. With these innovative changes, production increased +28% YTD (7 straight years) while expences decreased +34% over that time span.Recognized for his achievements, Mark has been asked to be the keynote speaker at many national conventions on various team building topics. Additionally, his book, “The Base Path of Success” - (Achieving and Leading Others to Succeed) was published in 2020. Ochsner Health System is one of the largest independent academic health systems in the United States. In addition, each year, more than 275 medical residents and fellows work in 27 different Ochsner-sponsored ACGME accredited residency training programs. Ochsner also hosts more than 700 medical students, 1588 nursing students and 600 allied health students in clinical rotations annually. Ochsner is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a "Best Hospital" in six different specialty categories and conducts more than 1000 clinical research studies annually.In 2009, Ochsner partnered with the University of Queensland Medical School to create the University of Queenland – Ochsner Clinical School.

Mark served as Vice President of Physician and Talent Acquistion Recruiting Division for American Family Care (AFC), the largest urgent care provider in the US, for over 170 medical clinics nationwide. The recruiting division incorporated 3 separate recruiting and staffing teams and held over 32 major staffing contracts. He was directly responsible for developing business plans & recruitment strategies for all AFC physicians, various nurse discipline contracts, locum tenen, part time, temp to perm, and direct placement opportunities. He developed a "business partner" strategy that resulted in business opportunities nationwide. Was the brain-trust behind a new marketing initiative, which integrates job boards and digital marketing efforts which majorly impacted tremendous growth and outcomes. With his direction, teams successfully recruited over 350 physicians in the last 2 years in 26 states including Hawaii. He introduced the highly successful nurse wellness campaign, "Celebrate Life" in 2011 that was a first of its kind in the healthcare staffing industry which was a huge success. The "Healthy Nurses Happy Nurses" wellness program had an 84% participation rate with Trinity Medical nurses which resulted in less missed shifts, lower call-offs, and high revenue outcomes....a "win-win-win" scenario for both the healthcare worker, client, and company.Mark is also very active in the community: Created and Founded The Over the Mountain Touchdown Club of Birmingham Alabama with Dr. Larry Lemak, Barry Faulkner and Bill Dowell. He led efforts to land the prestigious Bobby Bowden National Collegiate Coach of the Year Award which is given annually and covered by media outlets nationwide. The yearly efforts for the non-profit club resulted in participation of hundreds of thousands of dollars for its beneficiaries which include: The American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation JDF, and established a college scholarship which is also given at the annual banquet.
