While on this placement I worked as a member of the process engineering team and involved in a range of different areas of the plant. During this time I was given the opportunity to work on the pipelines, pressure relief, trips and alarms, monitoring system, utility rationalisation, start-up and shut-down procedures and a short time on shift to understand the different aspects of work.I volunteered to be part of the process inspection team for the olefins 6 shutdown for 3 months (completed and passed the in house training), this involved inspection of equipment pre and post clean and sign off when cleaned to the correct standard. I also provide part of the 24 hour cover needed for the chemical cleaning of the stream letdown.The safety program implemented during the shutdown was "bee Safe" and as a member of this safety program I was responsible for inspection of my designated area and intervention if corrective actions were required.
