President and Executive Director of the Seamen's Church Institute (SCI)—formerly, the Seamen’s Church Institute of New York & New Jersey, a mission of the Episcopal Church, though non-sectarian in its work—the largest and most comprehensive mariner service organization in North America. Headquartered in lower Manhattan and with campuses in the Port of New York & New Jersey, the Houston Ship Channel, and Paducah, KY and with offices in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, LA, and a network of maritime chaplains in 14 states, SCI provides welfare and pastoral care services to mariners and seafarers, continuing maritime training through the Center for Maritime Education, and pro bono mariner advocacy through the Center for Mariner Advocacy and Seafarers’ Rights. Mark is skilled in Nonprofit Organization Management, Pastoral Counseling, Volunteer Management, Governance, and Public Speaking.
