Managed a team supporting Epic’s user base and IT infrastructure worldwide. This includes 4 locations in the US, and 3 sites overseas.Designed and managed the complete rebuilding of the Epic corporate IT infrastructure and data center. This redesign included the virtualization of approximately 95% of the company servers, reducing the data center footprint by approximately 75%. Significantly increased overall system uptime across all company systems. Built redundant systems that all but eliminates unplanned outages of core systems, and increased overall uptime to 99.99%. Managed the team and process for providing user support across all Epic sites. Our IT Team consistently received a 96-98% approval rating from the company user base.Oversaw portions of the construction of Epic HQ, data center, and 2 remote facilities to insure maximum flexibility, while containing costs. Supported and provided for the infrastructure needs of a team of software developers. The primary focus of this development team was the development of software applications for large pharmaceutical companies. These applications were primarily geared around product sampling, promotions, and tracking of drug usages by patients nationally. These applications were absolutely mission critical in that patients could not receive much needed prescribed medication during any system failure.Responsible for the design, implementation, and support of all IT network & systems infrastructure. This network includes 2 corporate facilities, and a commercial data center housing all of the company servers and data storage.Designed and implemented a completely new infrastructure in our data center facility built around full redundancy. This design included VMware servers configured in a DRS HA cluster. The storage for the VM systems is provided by redundant EMC NS40 storage arrays. The NS40s also provide the storage for a Active/Standby Microsoft SQL 2008 cluster.

Responsible for the design and support of the West corporate network infrastructure, spanning 20 locations. The IT department provided for the needs of 5 separate business units over 5 states, and insured communications required for business continuity. Redesigned complete corporate server infrastructure, and migrated all critical server functions to a secure, high availability data center. All servers are currently replicating data to stand-by servers located at corporate headquarters. Installed systems and network monitoring servers, allowing the IT department to proactively monitor network outages and bandwidth utilization. This has allowed IT to respond more quickly in the event of a failure, and to plan resources more accurately for future growth.Responsible for hiring and management of all IT staff, as well as planning and implementation of all IT projects and end-user solutions.
