Joined the New South Wales Police Force in 1985. Have performed duties in a variety of areas including general duties policing, serious, major and organised crime investigations, public order and a variety of specialists squads including the Drug Enforcement Agency, Organised Crime Branch, Joint Asian Crime Group, National Crime Authority and Drugs & Organised Crime Strike Force Program. Since 2003 have had command roles at Local Area Commands, Specialist Operations, Public Order & Riot Squad, State Surveillance Branch (Covert Operations) and more recently the Aviation Support Branch (@ POLAIR). Awarded a Commissioner's Commendation for Leadership and Management skills and have a proven record in the areas of Change Management, Risk Management and Safety Management.Awarded the Commissioner's Safety Award - Best Workplace Health and Safety Management System - twice (2009 and 2012) for having an inter grated system and risk management approach to safety management systems.Awarded the Australian Police Medal (APM) in 2016. Introduced 5 new aircraft (2 Bell 412’s and 3 Cessna Grand Caravan’s) into operational service whilst Commander PolAir. Retired in 2021. Is a Member of the Advisory Committee to the proposed NSW Historic Police Museum and the Vice President of the NSW Historic Patrol Vehicles Car Club.

Am currently the Primary Negotiator, Contract Manager and Program Director for the $24M plus (AUD) over FY 16/17 and FY 17/18 for the PolAir 2 ( Bell 412EPI) and PolAir 6 (Cessna Grand Caravan EX) Replacement Program. Recently introduced PolAir 8 into the expanding NSW Police Force fleet. Was the Primary Negotiator, Contract Manager and Program Director for the $17.3M (AUD) Polair 5 Replacement Program. This resulted in the successful introduction of 2 new aircraft, a Bell 412EPI helicopter (PolAir 5) and Cessna Grand Caravan EX (PolAir 7), into operational service in late 2014. -
