Managing Climate Resilience Program for one of the largest transit agencies in the nation. Managing multiple facets of a climate resilience program for Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority. Project manager on a three-phase Resilience Program that includes both climate- and non-climate hazards and threats. The project includes managing consultants who are conducting facility-level vulnerability assessments at eleven WMATA owned facilities. The internal facing results from these assessments will then be used to create and integrate resiliency factors for design criteria, standards and specifications for operations and management.Project managing a study on system level climate risk assessment. This study will investigate the potential social and economic costs of the projected climate change related disruptions from sea level rise, high heat days, increased storms and other threats. Responsible for implementing a three-phase climate plan. Phase 1 involved conducting an internal operations greenhouse gas inventory and developing an action plan to reach carbon-neutrality by 2050. This involved working with stakeholders throughout the organization and utilities in the region. This plan has been adopted and we are currently working on implementation.Phase 2 was the development of a community-wide greenhouse gas mitigation plan for Lane County. This 18 month long project involved developing public opinion surveys, working with contractors to develop an emission inventory for the county, leading public outreach events to gather input from community members, the business community, government stakeholders, gas and electrical utilities, and a variety of elected officials. The plan, adopted in April 2022 by the Lane County Board of Commissioners, went through several revisions to address community and business feedback.Phase 3 was the development of a community climate resilience plan. As climate strategist I gathered funding and hired an Americorp member to work full-time on this project. I developed long term strategies and managed his day-to-day work. We developed a unique modular approach to addressing climate-related threats based on seasonal and regional impacts. Through these efforts we accelerated the timeline for completing phase 3 by over a year. The Lane County Board of Commissioners was adopted the plan in late-2022.I also staffed the community Climate Advisory Committee. This newly formed committee consisted of ten community members recruited to advise the Board of Commissioners on climate-related actions. The group started from an idea and developed into one of the more important community voices on climate in Lane County.

Previously taught Quantitative Methods to graduates and undergraduates, Public and Nonprofit Financial Management to undergraduates. Also advised the PPPM Capstone class, an applied research project where students work in groups with local government and non-profit agencies for two-terms. This project serves as the terminal research project for the Master of Public Administration degree in the School of Planning, Public Policy, and Management.Taught refresher math course to incoming Planning, Public Policy and Management graduate students for a decade.Provide advice and recommendations for graduate students during their time at UO.

Responsible coordinating efforts of the City of Eugene while we work towards fulfilling the Climate Recovery Ordnance goals for GHG and Fossil Fuel reductions.
