Reported to Vice President, Operations, responsible for clinical operations, strategic growth and business development for cardiovascular services at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, the flagship hospitals for UPMC, totaling 1,170 inpatient beds. • Responsible for $56M annual operating budget, $10M annual capital budget, 117 FTEs, and clinical operations for invasive and non-invasive cardiology, cardiac MRI, electrophysiology, heart failure, and vascular services at two of UPMCs flagship hospitals. • Worked with over 250 employed, academic physician practice and private practice cardiology practices in coordinating care, program development, and physician relations. • Led a committee of physicians and administrators to establish the UPMC Valve Center and UPMC Center for Atrial Fibrillation.• Served as interim Director, cardiovascular and imaging services at UPMC East, responsible for program planning, physician development, staff hiring, orientation, training, licensure approval, and operational go-live for invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular services and imaging department at the new, 155-bed, $134M community hospital. • Championed the UPMC HVI Clinical Operations Council, representing all cardiovascular programs at UPMC, and led efforts to standardize the cardiovascular information management system across all hospitals.• Administered cardiac research program at UPMC Shadyside, introducing several high-profile trials including Corevalve, Choice, Excel, Prompt, Translate, Tao and Promise.• Developed justification, design, and general construction management of first hybrid OR at UPMC Presbyterian.• Co-Chair of AHA Heart Walk and United Way fundraising councils, increasing total funds raised by 50% compared to prior year for two consecutive years.
